Whats Up Wit Kool? From DJ'n to spitin mad lyrics that move the croud, DJ Kool is one of Washington DC's successful recording Artist. Kool's records have been played and enjoyed for years in the clubs and on radio. I still hear some of Kool's magnificent work in clubs around the Washington metro area. |
I can remember being at the Qansette (now called the Legends, in Temple hills MD) when
I had been dancin for almost 2 hours straight and was winding down
to the point where I just wanted to have a drink and relax. Some songs that
I like came on but still I only had enough energy to remain seated and chill
while enjoying the music. But then, out of nowhere came this Grandfather of
a beat with lyrics that were just as hard (if not harder) than the beat beneeth
it. I heard "Turn the music up and watch the floor get packed" and my body forgot
it was tired. I jumped up and danced to "The Music Ain't Loud Enough" til
that song went compleatly off. Kool has rocked many clubs and people still continue to enjoy his music. "DJ Kool" The man who put the dance in your pants, the
pop in your step and the shake in your bake. "OKAY,forgive me for that one".
But when it comes to hip hop music and DJays in the DC metro area, DJ Kool got
it locked hands down. For years Kool has lit up stages, pumped out the cuts, and
cut up the mix. Kool is also known for his TV commercials with Henry's Insurance,
and most recently, Pepsi Cola where the commercial features his famous
cut "Let Me Clear My Throte" |
There is no doubt that Kool has lit up the DC scene for many years. After talking to Kool around 1:00 PM, after he arrived from phily, I found out that Kool really enjoyed working with Red Man this summer and expressed that he had a great time working with Red Man on the "Let's Get Dirty" project. Kool also did some work with Wil Smith, and with "Phily's Most Wanted" . He will also be doing a record with Wrestle Mania's Randy Savage. Now that should be interesting. When Kool is not working on music projects he likes to spend time with his wonderful daughter, And to mix things up a bit at home, he also enjoys playing Madon. And he dosen't over work himself when he is at home. "Good man" I guess you could say he's always Kool. |
